A Halloween Wedding: It's a Boo-tiful thing

(above: table setting and invitation, Country Living magazine)

Halloween isn't just for kids anymore. More and more adults are embracing all things Halloween - - - even their weddings. [check out some couples who said "I Boo" on Halloween: Tara & Mark and Heather & Steve]

Although the world expects us to do certain things in certain ways, I realize that some people are just not cut out to do things in ordinary ways and answer to a calling of their own vision. Some couples have therefore decided to make their favorite holiday their wedding day (and hence forth, their anniversary).

Glowing candles, grinning pumpkins and a moonlit night are a few great beginnings to a Halloween wedding. You don’t want campy and wacky but a ceremony that is both serious and a reception that is a testament to your fun-loving nature.

Consider adding some polish to this special night, here are some tabletop ideas that pair a touch of elegance with pure Halloween fun.

For the couple who loves Halloween, these ghoulish gifts by Bethany Lowe Designs are sure to be a scream for the bride and groom who embrace the spirit of the season.

I love the Bloody Martinis, but what's the red stuff trickling down the rim of the glasses? Any help would be much appreciated. Thank you.

Hi Kathrin, I love the bloody rimmed martinis also. According to Better Homes and Gardens, the red "stuff" around the glass is called red decorating icing writing gel.

Here's the link to the recipe: http://www.bhg.com/recipes/recipedetail.jsp?recipeId=R105354

I'm not sure what brand BH&G used but here's the link to Wilton's writing gel: http://www.wilton.com/store/site/product.cfm?id=3E30D92D-475A-BAC0-5E58AE4E7DFABD2E

The invitation card itself is scary already and as well as the bouquet. If I will be invited I might have the doubt, though the creativity and fashion is there. So where could be the honeymoon then?

Plantation shutters help in the complete block out of sunlight whenever needed creating a classic look at the same time providing elegance over the home. Even creating a soundproof at the times when needed by simply closing the louver blades.
